Spadia Lab: Czech-language Smart Reports across a 1,200-parameter menu

Spadia Lab is one of the largest diagnostic laboratory networks in the Czech Republic, with central laboratories in Ostrava, Brno and Prague. They came to NirogGyan with roughly 1,200 parameters and a language most reporting vendors quietly decline. We extended the dictionary, built them a configuration layer they drive themselves, and volumes have roughly doubled every year since.

About Spadia Lab

Spadia Lab runs clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology, microbiology and genetics across a wide network of collection points, serving both consumers and referring clinicians. It employs more than five hundred people.

For NirogGyan, Spadia is a mid-sized international partner with an unusually deep test menu and exacting standards for localised clinical content.

A menu nobody had mapped, in Czech

Czech is a hard language to localise clinical content into, and Spadia’s menu was wider than anything we had mapped. The usual vendor answer is to support the common panels and leave the rest in English. That was never going to work for a lab whose specialist testing is the reason clinicians send work to them.

Spadia also wanted to introduce new tests and new features over time without each one becoming a project.

  • Around 1,200 parameters, many outside any standard dictionary
  • Clinical content to be authored in Czech rather than machine-translated
  • New tests and features expected on a rolling basis

Why they chose us

Spadia needed a partner willing to extend the product to fit their menu rather than ask them to narrow it, and to put configuration in their own hands.

  • A dictionary extended to their menu, as paid customisation work
  • Self-service tooling so routine changes never queue behind a vendor

A dictionary extended, and a configuration layer they own

We extended the biomarker dictionary to cover Spadia’s menu and built a do-it-yourself configuration capability so Spadia can add tests, edit Czech content and shape the output themselves. New features are added on the same layer as they are released.

The report runs as the Personal Smart Report with Body Summary over their Bwell system and serves both their consumer and referral business.

Reporting volume went from 2,657 in the launch year to 6,097 and then 13,017, roughly doubling each year. Spadia pays for the customisation work and considers the return well worth it.

Where the partnership goes from here

Spadia continues to add tests and features on the configuration layer, with further capability planned for the year ahead.

Frequently asked questions

Does NirogGyan support languages other than English and Hindi?

Yes. Spadia Lab’s reports are in Czech, with clinical content authored and editable by their own team. NirogGyan also delivers Arabic reports in the Middle East.

How many parameters can a Smart Report cover?

NirogGyan’s dictionary covers well over a thousand biomarkers and was extended to roughly 1,200 for Spadia’s menu.

Can a lab configure Smart Reports itself?

Yes. Spadia uses a self-service configuration capability to add tests and edit content without a NirogGyan release.
